Solar Energy Solutions for Home and Business

The days of low cost electricity is over. From 2003 to 2009 the wholesale kilowatt-hour rates for residential consumers have increased 45%. North Central Electric Cooperative which is affiliated with Buckeye Power( a major electric supplier for Ohio) is implementing a new system of charging based on peak demand hour usage. The current rate is 10 cents per kilowatt, but under the new policy it will increase 3 to 6 cents more during peak demand hours. Peak hours have been established as follows:

Summer time peak hours will be from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. weekdays. The summer rates will be from May 16th to September 15th.

Winter time peak hours will be from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. weekdays. The winter rates will be September 16th to May 15th.

These peak hour demand rates mean that consumers will pay nearly 50% more during these time periods. Soon all the electric companies will follow suit.

Why wait for electricity to go up? Rate increases could happen very quickly catching many by surprise. Monthly electric bills reaching $300 to $400 dollars are not far away. We may have to limit laundry, hot water, cooking, TV or even computer usage to manage our budgets. Does this sound extreme? Just think about it.

If you have been paying attention to what is going on with many of our regulatory agencies that deal with clean air and environment, you'll have to admit rising energy prices are inevitable . Plus, congress are considering adding taxes to all consumer purchases including electricity not to mention the secret tax of inflation. As a result, enormous demands for alternative energy is on the horizon.

If a person can stay six months to two years ahead of the trend, you will be in a window of opportunity that the majority will never experience. Only 10 to 15% will step out in front of the crowd, whether it has to do with the stock market, marketing a product, or purchasing photovoltaic (PV) equipment. It has been said, "there are two kinds of people, the proactive and the reactive." You must decide which type of person you are.

Photovoltaic Technology Advantages

  1. Reliability: PV arrays protects you from outages that happen miles away.
  2. Durability: Modules have a 25 year guarantee and last 30 to 40 years.
  3. Low Maintenance Cost: Panels require very little if any maintenance.
  4. No Fuel Cost: No purchasing, storing, piping, or transporting of fuel.
  5. Reduced Sound Pollution: It operates silently.
  6. Independence: Your cost to generate electricity is in your hands.
